Monthly CalendarStudents bring their instruments and sheet music to school for all ensemble rehearsals unless otherwise noted.
Please note that even when regularly scheduled ensemble rehearsals are cancelled due to testing, the studio class schedule remains intact (see below). Students who have lessons on testing days will need to bring their instruments to school despite the cancelled rehearsal. |
Studio Class Schedule
Studio classes provide many advantages to students because they are focused on developing instrument-specific technique tailored to the needs of each individual student. Weekly practice logs, individual assignments, and playing assessments are administered during lessons, and is good, music-making fun.
Studio Classes are required for all instrumental students at M.S. 180. Lessons are offered during and after school. Every effort is made to accommodate scheduling conflicts so that all students may attend. In the event that a student cannot attend a regularly scheduled lesson, a parent note should be provided in advance. Students scheduled for lunch lessons should bring a lunch to school to accommodate more practice time if possible.
